[ An hour or so after snowfall, Ed finally stops feeling like crap. Now that he no longer has the vertigo and doesn't want to puke out all the contents in his stomach, he starts to move around. Starts to search for the ones that he knows, starts to check on them. It's not like most people would need some rest after spending so many hours being sick or anything.
The cold temperature is a bitch, but after spending so long on Ajna, he finds himself a little more adapted. Though he still needs to wrap his coat over himself and keep his hands tucked under his elbows, it's not cold to the point of numbness. He can walk, so there's no reason to sleep anymore.
[Lan Fan certainly looks a bit worse for wear, bags under her eyes and wrapped up in two blankets (thanks Nic) as she looks over at Ed. Her right hand holding the impromptu poncho closed shakes a little and she looks a little more pale than she should, but for the most part she's hiding her discomfort fairly well.]
[ She doesn't look good. Was she cold? Or was she still groggy from the sickness? Ed rushes to Lan Fan's side, laying a hand on her shoulder. ] Yeah, it's me. Easy there.
[ Come to think of it, she never experienced Ajna so she may not be accustomed to the cold weather. He wonders if he should find her another blanket. ] Are you cold? Or do you still feel sick?
[Lan Fan winces a little when Ed touches her shoulder--it's not as sensitive as it had been before the port was healed, but the cold isn't making it much better to have all that metal in her. She shakes her head, drawing herself up a little straighter and trying to still her tremors.]
No, it is just the cold...I was not expecting it to affect me this much.
[ Something isn't right. While it was cold, she shouldn't have this much of a bad reaction to it. It was almost like she was in pain. And did she just wince when he touched her just now? ] Well, it shouldn't --
[ Everyone else was doing fine, residual symptoms aside. What was different?
It dawns on him seconds later. ] How long have you been out in the cold like this?
[ Hopefully not any longer than an hour. This was serious!! ]
[What was with him all of a sudden? Lan Fan frowns, suppressing another shiver and pulling the blankets tighter around herself. She just needs to conserve body heat...this shouldn't last long, she'll be fine.]
That's way too long! [ Not long enough for permanent damage, but if they continued to idle around, this might be in Lan Fan's future. Ripping off his own coat, he ignores the cold for now and tosses it over her, wrapping it around her automail. ]
Back in Amestris -- You've never been to the North, have you?
Too long--what--? [WOW ED YOU ARE MOVING WAY TOO FAST, HOW ABOUT A DATE FIRST?? Lan Fan blinks in utter confusion, but at least doesn't resist Ed's man-handling.]
[ he's seme ] That's precisely it! You don't have Northern-style automail. Those are adapted for the cold. Yours isn't.
[ Ed props her into sitting position against the wall, pulling her blankets tighter around her. ] Any longer, and the frostbite would have set in. You're lucky I found you in time!
[ It doesn't help that she hasn't completed her rehab, either. He needed to find a way to warm her up fast. ]
[Lan Fan frowns, wanting to shove Ed off but not quite willing to. He doesn't fret often (at least not openly that she's ever seen), but if he's this worried...he knows more about automail than her, so maybe he has a point.]
[She shifts her hold on the blankets and jacket, making sure to keep every scrap of her heat in that she can.] What...what do I need to do?
